Have Your Say On Lowe & Wilde
Returning
I've
said enough on the subject so i would like to hear from fans who
visit UTS what they think of the return of two ex-chairman who put
the Club where it is today. As i said below ive spoken to many fans
recently at games and nobody has shown any desire to see Lowe or
Wilde involved in the boardroom. There are even some fans who have
commented that relegation and administration may not be a bad option
if it saw the permanent exit of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch. UTS will
put up your thoughts for all to see. Read

Loyal Leon Puts The Club First
Saints Chairman Leon Crouch has put the Club's welfare
first and made it known that there is unlikely to be an EGM. Crouch
is aware that the board has no way of winning the EGM and has indicated
that discussions will continue to seek a simple handover out of season.
The PLC had to arrange a date as requested by those calling for changes.
That duty is now complete but Crouch has said unlike the 2006 EGM
he will not be wasting Club money. If people are still wondering
why all this is happening then until told otherwise digest this.
Simply in a nutshell when the executives Hone, Dulieu and Oldknow
where paid to leave last December Wilde expected to return to the
boardoom. However Leon Crouch and other board members felt he had
done nothing for SFC with botched investment promises and bringing
in individuals who hijacked the Club for most of last year. They
of course had to be paid off with money the club could ill afford
to waste. Despite slagging off the idea of Lowe returning Wilde turned
'traitor' for revenge on Crouch and arranged with Lowe the current
situation.

Saints Parent Company Announce EGM
Date
Southampton Leisure Holdings the PLC which owns Saints
have announced May 16th as the date for the requested EGM. Shareholders
Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde made a requisition for
an EGM at the beginning of this month. They are looking to remove
PLC board directors Leon Crouch, Patrick Trant and Keith Wiseman.
Lowe, Wilde and former director Andrew Cowen would be incoming. It's
thought all current football board directors would all resign in
principle of the moves. But will the EGM actually happen ? The shareholders
have more than enough to win the EGM making it a pointless affair.
There is the suggestion that Saints have put on a 'stalling' effect
due to the possibility that a takeover may well happen if they remain
in the Championship. Failing that i imagine the boards will all resign
on May 5th. All that aside it would be interesting to see how exactly
Lowe and Wilde can do anything different to the current mob. Unless
there is a significant cash injection then it will be more of the
same and be a lot worse in many fans eyes.

Wilde & Lowe Return : The UTS
Verdict
It was never in doubt speaking to fans on match days
over the last month has seen 'nobody' wanting either Lowe or Wilde
anywhere near SFC. The two failed Chairman who despise each other
(FACT) only holding hands through a third party to do what exactly
? Unless there is any investment or takeover asap then Lowe and Wilde
cannot change anything. Michael Wilde has certainly become a hate
figure amongst fans. Even i was taken back by the level of abuse
directed at him for what many see as his two faced 'stabbing us in
the back' link up with Lowe. Many fans also think Wilde will get
turned over by Lowe at some point. Fans are saying that it's difficult
to judge the current boardroom due to the mess they have inherited
from Lowe and Wilde and have only been in office four months. The
reasons that appeared on the EGM requisition where a total farce
and Lowe should of simply handed it to his mate Wilde ! Overall fans
are simply fed up with it all and many have reached breaking point.
A big drop in season ticket sales says it all and it will continue.

Saints Lurch Towards The Drop After
Burnley Defeat
Saints find themselves staring relegation in the face
after losing at St Marys 1-0 to Burnley. The defeat was made worse
with other results at the bottom meaning Saints are now just one
point above the drop zone. Burnley scored the only goal of the game
in added time just before the break. A headed goal from Caldwell
following a Burnley corner. There was little between the sides until
then with Burnley's defence standing tight despite not having anything
to play for. Bradley Wright Phillips hit the woodwork in the first
chance of the second half but you could tell it was one of those
games that Saints where never going to score. They now face West
Brom away who will be looking to seal promotion. Saints will know
what they have to do following the weekend results with them not
playing until the following Monday.

Saints Battle For Crucial Charlton
Draw
The relegation battle is reaching boiling point as
Saints exited the Valley with a well earned point from a 1-1 draw.
It keeps the momentum going following the home win over Bristol City
last week. Saints took the lead in the first half as a speculative
lob from Stern John was spilled by Charlton keeper on to one of his
own defenders and into the net. Saints put in a committed performance
throughout but in the second half saw Charlton equalize as Gray headed
in a cross. Charlton could have won the game towards the end but
loanee goalkeeper Wright pulled off a stunning point blank save to
give Saints the well earned draw. A couple of the other results went
our way and with a number of teams below us still to play each other
Saints at least have some say in their destiny. It goes without saying
that Burnley at home this coming Saturday is a must win.

Wilde Thinking Of Ditching Lowe Backing
?
Saints
leading shareholder Michael Wilde who has proxied his shareholding
to Rupert Lowe is thought to be reconsidering his quest for an EGM.
The sham link up has been proved to be nothing more than a power
and revenge move by the previous Chairmen. Now following huge condemnation
from Saints fans it would appear Wilde is realising he has made a
huge gaff. Simply put the vast majority of fans do not want either
involved with SFC in any capacity. The EGM was requested on April
1st and SFC have two more weeks before they have to name a date.
But in the interests of SFC, fans are hoping that Wilde will drop
the whole personal vendatta against the current Chairman Leon Crouch.
Saints meawhile are thought to be in serious talks with individuals
introduced by Saints fan and London business face Anthony Salz.

Saints Get There Heads Above Water
With Bristol Win
Saints put in their display of the season as they
beat league leaders Bristol City 2-0 at St Marys. The win lifted
Saints out of the bottom three with results elsewhere also being
favourable. Nigel Pearson had his players primed from the start and
they where all over Bristol City from the kick off. Saints had half
a dozen clear chances to open the scoring before John made it 1-0
on thirty five mins. He had the ball in the net a couple of minutes
later but it was ruled offside. The loanee backline of Wright, Lucketti
and Perry easily dealt with what Bristol City where creating. As
the clock ticked down in the second half and with so much at stake
the one goal lead fuelled the tension. But it was game over with
six minutes to play as a Saints corner came to Licka he teed in a
perfect cross to see Wright-Phillips have a header saved but Euell
was there to follow up and make it 2-0. Saints could have had a third
in injury time as Wright Phillips rounded the keeper but run out
of space. Great win at just the right time !

PLC Half Year Accounts Announced
It was only a matter of time before things started
to get financially hairy after Michael Wilde conned fans he had investors
lined up and Lowe would only sell his shares for a scandalous price.
Saints have kept their heads above water in the main by selling Bale,
Jones and Baird. The half year interim accounts up to December 2007
highlight how despite showing just losses of £700,000 (£2.6m
last year) there really isn't anything left and dramatic cuts would
need to be made if no significant investment arrives. The financial
figures cover the time that Wilde's executives Hone and Dulieu where
hijacking the Club. The current Chairman Leon Crouch who has been
in office just 14 weeks has one hell of a job on his hands. The PLC
is currently in a bid situation and we must hope that something positive
happens. The fact that the two main contributers to the financial
melltdown want back in really says it all. Half

EGM Called And Lowe Wants to Be Headboy
Again !
Saints
have announced that they have recieved a requistion from Rupert Lowe
and Michael Wilde for the PLC to arrange an EGM. They are wanting
the removal of Chairman Leon Crouch, acting Chief Executive Lee Hoos,
PLC directors Trant and Wiseman. In return they would installl Rupert
Lowe, Andrew Cowen and Michael Wilde. It's thought Lowe would be
PLC Chairman, Cowen the Chief Exectuive and Wilde the football club
Chairman. Saints have 21 days to reply to the request and then if
EGM is called up to 28 days from that date. It would appear RL and
MW have cut short their changes as its well known all the current
football board would probably resign. EGM

Lowe Stooge Operation Not Acceptable
It's something that has been rumoured before late
last year that Rupert Lowe wouldn't take any major role in a return.
The main two roles where going to previous managing director Andrew
Cowen and ex-director Mike Richards would be Chairman. Amusingly
Mike Wilde wouldn't allow this to happen last year when he met Lowe's
representive Cowen. This line up again is being talked as some sort
of fan compromise. But loyal fans will not be conned as we all know
that Lowe thinks he's GOD and will just sit back pulling the strings
like he has always done. Lowe himself has recently been heard to
comment SFC as 'My Club'. UTS firmly believes that the current downfall
of Saints is all to do with the mess that Lowe and Wilde have left.
In particular Wilde is responsible for the Club being hijacked for
most of last year by the executives he put in place. This mean't
the football board became totally ignored and powerless. Burley was
going backwards and nobody could do anything about it. Renew my season
ticket ? Ahh no thanks

Under Fire Wilde Caught Out Posting
On Fans Forum
Saints
leading shareholder Michael Wilde has been caught out posting messages
about himself on a Saints fans forum. Wilde who has allegedly recently
proxied his shares to Rupert Lowe boasts how he got rid of Lowe and "no
way" would he go along with any takeover involving Lowe back.
He even describes a journalist friend of Lowe's as his 'lapdog'.
In another post he describes how Lowe had alienated the fanbase and
it was spiralling downwards and changes had to happen. The Major
shareholder also makes many posts attacking two former executives
who he brought into the Club ! To read the postings made by Michael
Wilde he uses the alias 'saintmarc' on TheSaintsForum and
you will need to be registered to view his bizarre postings talking
about himself.

Claus Lundekvam Confirms His Retirement
Saints
defender Claus Lundekvam has announced today he will retire at the
end of the season following a recurrence of the same ankle injury
he had last year. Lundekvam was signed by Graeme Souness from Norwegian
Club Brann for £400,000 in 1996. He racked up 401 appearances
in league and Cup matches. Claus won't be remembered for his goalscoring
having just the two at Wolves in 2004 and Cardiff at home in 2006.
He was granted a testimonial match last year for his ten years of
service. But the match was postponed following his ankle injury against
Southend in the last league match of the season. Now having a second
operation after the same tendon snapped its unknown when the match
will happen.

Fans Not Wanting Lowe & Wilde
Return
The prospect of Rupert 'My Club' Lowe and Mike Wilde
returning to SFC has gone down like a lead ballon amongst many of
the fanbase. On the whole it would seem fans share the same viewpoint
as Chairman Leon Crouch. Lowe has had his years and the current mess
is very much down to him. Wilde gets the, 'What did he do ?' from
fans. I will say though that fans are also unsure with how things
are currently being managed. You could argue that Leon Crouch has
been in the role just 16 weeks and has inherited one hell of a mess
from Lowe and Wilde. He doesn't have a magic wand and to his credit
does seem 'up' for the challenge. Maybe if we stay in this league
there will be some fresh faced additions to strengthen the boardroom.
If Lowe and Wilde really are interested in the welfare of SFC then
Lowe would disband this pathetic share proxy and sell his 'mates'
percentage to Crouch or Trant. Wilde should listen to what real fans
are saying and forget about Lowe as it would make things even worse.

Another Point But It's Not Looking
Good
Saints continue to float above the relegation zone
as they where held to a 0-0 draw against Coventry City at St Mary's.
It was a typical dogged nervy match that wasn't very appealing to
watch. Maybe Saints had the better chances and a clean sheet helped
to erase the Hull scoreline. Nigel Pearson can only work with what
he's inherited and to be honest its mostly gash. Loanee goallkeeper
Richard Wright put in a decent show with a couple of good saves.
Overall though its another game with just a point gained with only
six games left to play. The league table looks rather ominous with
two clubs below still having games in hand. I suppose we can limit
the situation to whose going to finish third from bottom. Saints
probably have the hardest remaining games going on who they face.
Up next is Cardiff away and then its automatic promotion chasers
Bristol City at home. Charlton away then Burnley at home. The final
two matches are West Brom away and finishing with Sheffield United
at home. It's hard not to see it going right to the last game of
the season.

Lowe & Wilde Want PLC Boardroom
Seats - Or More ?
Saints
have rightly hit out at the untimely Daily Echo article that
alleges Rupert Lowe and Mike Wilde are linking up to return to SFC.
Just when all eyes should be concentrating on the matter in hand
the last thing we need is major shareholders using the media to stir
up trouble. It's no secret that Mike Wilde believes major shareholders
should be represented on the PLC board and that includes Lowe. But
Lowe and Wilde have enough share ownership to do exactly what they
want in removing current directors. All fans i've spoken to are gobsmacked
that anyone would allow Lowe through the door again. Let alone the
chap who removed him and spent a tidy personal sum in doing so. The
majority of Saints fans are disillusioned anyway and this just makes
things worse. Club

Saints Blown Away 5-0 at Hull
Saints woeful season reached another low at Hull as
they where demolished 5-0. Manager Nigel Pearson saw his first win
in the week and has now witnessed his first defeat and a stuffing
at that. Saints where trailing 1-0 at halftime and going on recent
results i think most fans would of expected something out of the
game. But the second half saw Saints collapse and given a footballing
lesson by a team who are right amongst the playoffs. Saints sit two
points above the relegation zone where just three points separate
several teams. They face Coventry City next at St Marys who are one
point below them and have a game in hand. It means the match is very
much a 'must win' as Saints are now running out of games.

Stern John Strike Gives Pearson First
Win
Saints
notched their first league win in ten games as they beat Leicester
1-0 at St Mary's. It was Nigel Pearson's first win as manager and
a crucial three points. It was a nervy game with little chances on
either side. Stern John broke the deadlock in the 76th minute when
he stabbed home a high ball past the hesistant Leicester goalkeeper.
It was a tense finish to the match as Saints looked to hold to the
win. Leicester should of equalized with minutes to go when Fryatt
was clear but his shot went wide from close range. It's only when
you look at the table that you see how vital it was that Saints won.
There is only a couple of points difference between several teams.
Saints face another tricky match away to Hull who are right amongst
the play off spots.

Saints Players Caught Up In Nightclub
CCTV Thefts
Saints players Bradley Wright-Phillips and Nathan
Dyer have been caught on CCTV with others as money and mobile phones
where allegedly stolen from a nightclub staff room. You can see the
CCTV footage on the Sunday
Mirror website. It doesn't make good viewing and although it
looks as if Wright-Phillips is watching, Dyer is seen with his hands
in a bag. Whoever the two players where with seem to nick what they
come across. Money and mobile phones where stolen but apparently
one phone was returned anonymously. The incident occured at Bar Bluu
in Southsea in the early hours of Thursday 28th February. It means
both players broke Club rules regarding socialising 48hrs before
a match. The Club this morning has announced through Nigel Pearson
that both players have been dealt with internally regarding being
in a nightclub within days of a match. The Club will also wait to
see what the Police do about the theft incident.

Another Away Point But Table Gets
Tighter
Stern John scored his fifteenth goal of the season
as Saints came from behind after taking the lead to draw 2-2 at Blackpool.
Gregory Vignal put Saints ahead on the halfhour mark from the penalty
spot after John was brought down. Blackpool levelled things minutes
into the second half with a header from Southern. Blackpool then
took a 2-1 lead as Gorkss saw a low drive creep in at the far post
past the unsighted Poke. Saints equalized as Licka swung in a corner
and Viafara's low header fell to John who had a simple tap in to
make it 2-2. It's another useful away point but other results mean
Saints are stuck right above the relegation zone. A number of clubs
also now have a game in hand on Saints. The home match against Leicester
is now the biggest game of the season so far. It has now been simply
labelled a 'must win' game.
08 Mar |
Euell Injury Time Leveller Gives Saints
Wolves Draw
Jason Euell headed a 94th minute equalizer as Saints
came back twice at Wolves to grab a point in a 2-2 draw. All the
goals came in the second half of which third choice goalkeeper Micheal
Poke came on at the break for the injured Davis for his first ever
appearance. Wolves took the lead on the hour mark but Saints levelled
from the penalty spot fifteen minutes later after McGoldrick was
brought down and Vignal stepped up to make it 1-1. Saints where reduced
to ten men with ten to play when Vignal was sent off for flicking
a kick towards a Wolves player. It got worse as with a couple of
minutes to play Wolves scored again and a defeat looked on the cards.
But Saints showed some new found belief as way into injury time a
Licka corner was headed home by Euell with seconds to play. Saints
now face another tricky tie away at Blackpool and lets hope the recent
postive motion can get a much needed three points.
04 Mar |
Some Hope Seen In Improved Performance
It was never going to change overnight and Nigel Pearson
has only been in the job for two weeks but there was good signs in
the 1-1 Ipswich draw that Saints can get out of the bottom six of
the table. The tempo was right from the start and things looked more
organised as they took the game to play off chasing Ipswich. Both
goals came early in the second half with Stern John opening the scoring
and Norris equalizing four minutes later. Both Saints and Ipswich
had chances to win the match towards the end. The single point however
has done little to lift Saints away from the bottom six. There is
only four points now between Saints and the bottom three. The flipside
being a couple of wins would then put us midtable. Saints now have
two hard away games at Wolves and then Blackpool. They will need
to keep things ticking like they did against Ipswich to get something
out of those two games.

Saints On The Ropes At Empty St Mary's
Saints woeful season reached new depths as Plymouth
won 2-0 and St Marys saw a record low league crowd of just 17,806.
A significant number of fans had long left before the final whistle.
New manager Nigel Pearson went with the team selected by Dodd and
Gorman having only arrived the previous day. It was of course full
of a number of players who many fans believe shouldn't even be on
the pitch. Thus the likes of Jermaine Wright found himself being
booed by fans and Euell was jeered on being subbed. Pearson will
at least now know the level of the problem he faces. I firmly believe
though he needs his own people around him as assistants with D&G
removed altogether. It would also help if we can at least sort something
out via loans to help the fullback dilemma that has been a major
problem all season. We simply cannot afford to lose away to Scunthorpe
next.

Saints Appoint New Manager - Nigel
Pearson
Saints
have made Nigel
Pearson manager following a run of defeats which culminated in
being knocked out the FA Cup at Bristol Rovers. His last main role
was assistant manager at Newcastle United but left when Kevin Keegan
returned. Recently he has been helping Stuart Pearce with the England
U21's. It's thought John Gorman and Jason Dodd who where caretaking
the team since George Burley left will remain as part of the set
up. Chairman Leon Crouch has said he believes Pearson is the right
man to steady the ship and get us moving up the table.

Saints Fightback In Vain As Stoke
Win
Saints fell short of a dramatic comeback as they lost
3-2 at Stoke. It was very much game over in most peoples eyes as
Stoke took a three goal lead in the first half at the Britannia.
Saints where allover the place at the back as Powell conceded an
own goal from a corner as he tried to clear. Then two headers from
further corners saw Saints three down. Presumably some harsh words
where said at halftime as a different Saints turned out in the second
half. They pulled one goal back within a minute of the restart with
a great chested volley by John. Saints where all over Stoke and they
where wobbling as John scored another to make it 3-2. The Stoke keeper
stopped a third with a tip over the bar from another John shot. Surman
saw a deflected shot just go wide of the post. Despite Saints best
efforts they couldnt get the third and the first half collapse was
just too much to salvage.
12 Feb |
Missed Chances Prove Costly In QPR
Defeat
Saints now find themselves looking down rather than
up the league table as they lost 3-2 at home to QPR. Despite taking
a first minute lead through Powell. It was two glaring misses from
BWP and John that proved pivatol on the half hour mark. QPR equalized
within minutes and then just before the break scored again for a
halftime 2-1 lead. Saints brought on Saganowski and then Viafara
as QPR looked to protect their lead with caution. But it was game
over on the hour mark as comical defending saw goalkeeper Davis come
to clear only for Wright to get infront and the ball deflect of his
knee past Davis and Agyemang had a simple open goal to make it 3-1.
It got worse when Safri was red carded for a frustrating violent
kick on Agyemang with ten to play. Saints pulled a goal back through
John as they went into injury time but it was all too late. Saints
now face a daunting midweek game at Stoke and then Bristol Rovers
away in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Saints Sticking With Gorman & Dodd
Saints have announced that John Gorman and Jason Dodd
will continue as joint caretaker managers for the 'foreseeable future'.
They have spoken to candidates for the vacant team manager role but
believe D&G have done a good job since George Burley was recruited
by Scotland. It seems a logical move bearing in mind the Club 'may'
change ownership and that new people may want their own man. If the
two carried on to the season end then there would obviously also
be more candidates available who currently are reluctant to leave
clubs mid season. I think most fans will be happy with the decision
the club have made. However as we know a run of bad results could
change everything. The Club also reiterated today that they are 'only'
in early talks with a couple of parties which may lead to something
or it may not on the takeover front.

Saints Parent Company Announce Takeover
Talks
Southampton Leisure Holdings the parent company that
owns SFC have announced via
the Stock Exchange. That they are in talks with a third party which
may lead to investment or a complete takeover. The Saints share price
has strangely risen some 30% over the last two weeks. There has been
a suggestion since last December that something was going on in the
background. Departed manager George Burley made reference to financial
change happening soon and the Club's PR company may well have been
involved in this article that
appeared in the Daily Mail. All that said by nature of whats happened
in the past an injection of caution should be taken. One other element
that should be put into the mix is Anthony
Salz who has been sat with the Club's directors for most of the
games over the last six weeks. The link being that Saints fan Salz
through his London connections would help find a worthy new owner
or investor. Maybe all that 'speculation' fits together with today's
announcement.

Stern John Leveller Earns Good Away
Point
Saints
made it five away draws on the bounce as they exited Selhurst Park
with a credible 1-1 draw. It was a scrappy game with poor finishing
and limited half chances by both sides. Both goals came in the last
quarter with Snowcroft opening the scoring for Palace in the 73rd
minute. The goal wobbled Saints and Palace almost scored a quick
second when Watson hit the bar twice. But credit to Saints they kept
going and the introduction of subs Saganowski and Idiakez gave Saints
more of an edge. That culminated in Saints equalizer six minutes
from time. Saganowski found Surman on the wing he went to the byeline
and crossed and John slid in to score his tenth goal of the season.
It was no more than Saints deserved as they tried to play the most
football with Palace hoofing it throughout the match.
02 Feb |
Rasiak & Skacel Depart St Mary's
It's transfer deadline day and Saints have allowed
Grzegorz Rasiak and Rudi Skacel to leave. Both deals are 'on loan'
status with a view to a permanent deal come May. Rasiak has joined
Bolton Wanderers and Skacel according to Skysports has
gone to Hertha Berlin. Obviously its gone down like a lead ballon
with fans who where not expecting any serious departures. But its
clear that both players wanted to go. Reading between the lines Rasiak
has wanted to go because he's in danger of being forgotten about
for the Poland Euro 2008 squad. One can only hope Saganowski finds
his scoring boots from the end of last season. Rudi Skacel hasn't
really lived up to his billing, the surprise is him going now rather
than out of season. Again it appears Skacel wants to try and push
himself into the Euro Czech Republic squad. The flip side on the
departures is that cash strapped Saints will now save on two of the
biggest wage earners and will get six figure loan fees.

Saints Get Lucky For FA Cup Win Over
Bury
Saints scrambled themselves into the fifth round of
the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Bury. But it was another dire game
like many this season. Whoever comes in to the hotseat vacated by
Burley is going to have one hell of a job to do. The first half you
would of been hard pushed to identify which team are in the bottom
six of the Football League. Bury could of taken a second minute lead
when Futchers freekick hit the post. Gorman and Dodd at least addressed
the failed middle pairing of Euell and Wright by bringing on Idiakez
and Skacel in the second half. The match had 0-0 written all over
it. But Saints got lucky in the seventieth minute when Surman saw
a shot take a heavy deflection past the Bury keeper. Bury almost
equalized from the restart as Bishop headed against the post. It
was game over with ten to play as John was pushed in the box for
a penalty. Rasiak though saw his first two penalty attempts saved
before it crossed the line. The fifth round draw is this Monday 1.30pm. Goals

Walk Out Merchant Hoddle Says He's
Too Busy
More good news for Saints fans is that Glenn Hoddle
has said he's too busy to become our manager via Skysports I
doubt very much the prize plum would of been asked anyway. Morally
correct Saints fans have never forgotten how he 'walked out' during
the end of the season. The Club gave him a return to football after
the England debacle and he stitched us right up. Let's not forget
his recent managerial record is hardly inspiring either. I still
believe SFC should be looking at the highest qualified candidate
to do the job. One name that hasn't been mentioned is Sam Allardyce
and maybe that sounds a bit crazy. But if he's going to return to
football where exactly in the Premiership ? Most jobs are sown up
and low placed Clubs have new managers. I like many other fans also
get a buzz with Alan Shearer's name being mentioned as manager and
he has said today he will not be Keegans No2. It all again though
spirals down to what our financial status permits.
25 Jan |
Financial Status The Key In New Manager
Hunt
The buzz from fans seeing Burley going has been replaced
by anxiety as to who the next manager will be. There is no 'one'
candidate that fans are all happy about ! A fair wack of fans are
still thinking Hoddle walked out on the Club 'in season' and will
never like him. Hoddle's recent managerial record is also very poor.
Billy Davies is getting some flak with his persona rather than the
fact his first three managerial seasons ended with three playoff
spots. That record is something that simply cannot be ignored in
our current plight. Souness is another name fans are talking about.
Alan Shearer would create alot of buzz but he would need a senior
helper thats for sure. For me the calibre of manager required comes
from those ive mentioned. The most important factor in choosing a
new manager or even one that would except the job is our financial
status. We simply have to have some form of investment come the season
end. Any decent new manager is not going to sign up to be told he
needs to sell his better players within months !
24 Jan |
Fans Relieved As Burley Goes To Scotland
Saints
fans on the whole are delighted that George Burley is going to Scotland
as for weeks now they wanted him SACKED. The bumbling boardroom at
SFC where scared to get rid of him, despite Burley failing as a manager
in every quarter. This season has been woeful to watch and in the
main its all down to a failing Burley. The departure of his assistant
Simon Hunt and senior coach Glynn Snodin has been pivotal and in
their place came a constant stream of excuses to hide poor coaching
be it with daft tactics, players out of position and Burley generally
acting clueless. There has been no spark all season and the football
has become boring with season ticket holders even avoiding games.
To think SFC have now got compensation is a right result but they
now have to make a sublime appointment to spark the team and fans
into life.
