I'm 18 and didnt really start supporting saints till i was 13
so i didnt really know much about lowe but what i have heard and
seen in the past month or so is enough for me to say he shouldnt
even have shares in this club anymore and should be kicked out
of St,Marys. Then you have Mr Wilde aka SAINTS FAN (load
of crap) he came in promising loads and how he loves this club
but what happened with him 'nothing' he's not a saints fan if he
was he wouldnt be doing this so none of them should be aloud
in st,marys might aswell ban them for life

I'm a season ticket holder and have supported Saints since 1971
so I have a fair idea of the highs and lows of following my team.
I was born down there and obviously still travel a considerable distance
(240 miles). I really feel for a lot of the current support because
of this constant mess in the background which to my mind has very
little to do with supporting the team. I do not like what has happened
to Saints and I put the general feeling around the club at Mr. Lowes
door. We were used to seeing good football (most of the time). We
knew our best chance for success was in the cups and we occasionally
gave the big teams a real fright. All the good feeling seems to of
vanished in and around the club although the core support and chat isn't
as depressing as at the end of Lowes time, amazing when facing Div
1. I for one will not renew my season ticket and will not be
seen at the club again until he's gone for good, I just can't support
the ripping apart of my club. Oh and Mr Wilde, you should be thoroughly
ashamed.

I would in no way wish to see Lowe and Wilde back at my beloved
club. Im sick of people like them coming in and making a bit of money
for their own benfit with total dis-reguard for the future of our
club. No doubt Lowe would want to see Hoddle back as manager but
even this would not deflect his desire to drain every single penny
he can get out of SFC's already depleted coffers. I have supported
the saints all my life and make the 250 mile round journey to see
them a few times every season, but with the chuckle brothers back
in charge, things at St Mary's can only get worse. All I want
is a smile on my face and to see the team doing well both on and
off the pitch....thats all.

I would just like to state for the record that I, among plenty of other
life-long saints fans, am utterly disgusted at the thought of Lowe,
Cowen and Wilde once again unsettling the club when in needs it least.
I'd also like to say that the whole mess we are in now is undoubtedly
down to the Lowe era and the current board have inherited a complete
mess financially and on the field. At least Crouch and co have
had the good fortune to acknowledge their mistakes and do not doubt
that they have the interests of Southampton FC at heart. Why do we
need more upheaval ? If Lowe and Wilde were coming back with SIGNIFICANT
INVESTMENT then I would understand and appreciate it. However you
cant help but feel that when the inevitable happens, we the fans
will have to endure that slime ball Rupert
Lowe telling us ‘I told
you so’ and I for one will not be throwing my money into
his and his cronies pocket. The whole thing has been a disgrace
and an embarrassment to the people that put the money in the coffers
week in, week out. The club is being stolen from us for personal
egocentric reasons and nothing more. I'd like to thank Leon
Crouch for his honesty and integrity during these trying times.

This is a fact that we will all have to
live with whether we like it or not, my view is that the club will
not move forward in either the short, medium or long term. This in
house power struggle has had a bad effect on the club and we will be
paying for this for a very long time, the only way is for Lowe and
Wilde to get the investment this club needs to be a success. That in
round numbers would be in the order or 150 million over and above the
purchase of the club, failure to achieve this; will see us in the lower
leagues for a long time. Therefore they have come in with guns blazing,
my statement to them would be; prove to me that you are capable of
finding a suitable investor, then bow out with your heads held high.

Of course all these people think they matter, that they are
important to the club. No, all that matters are the players, the
coaches, the ticket sellers, the cleaners and every one who actually
does a days work for Saints; and of course us. We pay to support
our club, we are not there to make money, gain prestige or impress
our wives. All we want is a team that does its best and a club that
is well run and honest.

As far as I am concerned this would
be a complete and utter disaster for the club. I am a season ticket
holder and, against
my better judgment, have already renewed for next year. Keep these
jokers away from our club, greed and self interest are all that motivates
the pair of them.

| I agree enough has been said! I too am
surprised that Lowe and Wilde are back in the frame.
But can someone answer me a question though. When Lowe departed
last time, were we in financial trouble. Has Lowe found a 'financial backer' who will only invest
if he is re-appointed chairman ? If so it could save us or would
we prefer to cut off our noses to spite our face ? The present
board hasn't been able to secure any investment, so can it get any
worse. I don't believe administration is a good idea. This rebuilding
from Division 1 belief is just a joke,we would be light years away
from regaining Premiership status.
During our relegation season I believe there were other factors
apart from the Lowe and three managers farce. Firstly Crouch
should have spent less time on the bench in the first half of the
season, 3 injury time goals cost us 6 points, Beattie wasnt interested
as he knew he was off to Everton. But more to the point we just weren't
good enough. Was that all the Chairman's fault? Also the lower
half of the league carry overpaid journey men. Long gone are the
loyal 'die hard' players which helped keep us up in the past.
Stability from somewhere would be a great relief. I don't know what
Owe is up to. He must have something positive up his sleeve. He is
in for a lot of abuse and no man would go through that twice.

As a Saints supporter who travels
200 miles round trip to watch home games.
I for one would be glad to see Lowe and Wilde back.
The present lot have brought nothing but misery.

My thought on the
current situation are very divided. I feel that Crouch is completely
out of his depth, the PR offensive was nothing less than shocking
(especially the Play-off push speech), he promoted Lee Hoos to CEO,
only a few weeks after proposing to remove him from the board altogether,
and has been caught out over the Wallcott transfer adjustment. Having
said that, I feel Leon is probably the one of the three with the
clubs interests most at heart.
Wilde has recently been caught out as a liar, through the SOS initiative,
when he told Andrew Cowen that the fans wanted him back as chairman.
When you add to that the unfulfilled promise of the £2M cash
injection, then standing down from the club (leaving paid executives
in complete control) as well as the fabled “manifesto” his
involvement with the club has been nothing short of disastrous. I do
not trust the man one bit, and I checked how many fingers I had left
after shaking his hand!
Lowe is, well Lowe...
There is nothing to add about his character that hasn’t been
discussed a thousand times, shrewd, clever, pompous and arrogant. The
man completely refuses to accept that he ever made a single mistake,
let alone take responsibility for the circus of events which led to
relegation, followed by complete inaction, in the first year of the
CCC, where our best hopes lay for an automatic promotion. Along with
Andrew Cowen though, there is an argument that he is probably the best
qualified to get us out of this mess, and if he considers us “unfinished
business” and wishes to stick two fingers up to the fans, the
only way he can do this is to prove us all wrong and turn the clubs
fortunes around.
My preferred choice is none of them, they have all contributed to the
position we now find ourselves in and have all been guilty of pathetic
and childish games which are at the perilous expense of our beloved
club…
But unless Fulthorpe comes up with the goods, there is no “other” column
and it’s a bleak choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.
So I would reluctantly side with Crouch, purely because he has the
support of Anthony Salz, Salz also has to realise that he needs to
step up to the plate as well, as he has not done so as yet. But his
reputation and acumen are spotless, and is someone I would be very
happy to see serve as a non-executive director.

Well i have to say im fed up with more or
less everythng to do with Saints these days and that reflects why ive
only been to four games this season at St Marys. I just fill totally
let down by Michael Wilde who made plenty of noises but failed to deliver
on anything of note. It says alot when the people Wilde employed actually
remove him from office ! What sort of person hands over the keys to
a load of strangers ?
Alan Burton, London Saint |
Maybe im missing something here but why
would any Saints fan want Lowe and Wilde back to the club as they are
responsible for the current mess. I can only presume they have some
investment lined up as they are going to be under the cosh from day
one if they just carry on as it is now. I imagine there will be some
players sold but i would fully expect that whoever was the Chairman.
Gary Spencer, Weston |
When i first started watching Saints as
a kid in the early 80s it was all about the football and i wouldnt
of known who was sat in the boardroom. I can honestly take this right
up to 1997 when SFC was turned into a PLC. In came Rupert Lowe and
from then on its totally overshadowed the football. Why won't Rupert
Lowe sell his shares and simply piss off ?
